Each module is broken into short, actionable lessons with practical tools that time minutes a day to implement and make a lasting impact.

But what we really want you to know is that making time for your marriage, even in a busy season, is the best thing you can do for your vocation. We often buy into this idea that our kids should come before anything else and that we need to devote all our time to them. We think we'll have time to work on our marriage later and that it will be waiting for us. A broken ankle doesn't get better by ignoring it and getting to it later. Likewise, if your marriage is strained, it deserves your attention now. It won't get any better by ignoring the issues and waiting for later. Making time for your marriage is the first step.

We hear this often, and while it can feel discouraging, it's actually a huge opportunity for growth. Abundant is designed to bring transformation, even if only one spouse starts the journey! Yes. Really. Oftne, when one person begins to change--especially with tools that encourage positivity, connection and understanding--it inspires the other to join. We've seen this happen dozens of times.

While Abundant is completely Catholic and we don't hide or "water down" what the Catholic Church teaches, non-Catholic we have worked with tell us that they feel very comfortable in this course. We are not here to judge your beliefs, but simply to explain the Catholic perspective.

Think of it this way: Imagine you attending a wedding in a tradition that you weren't familiar with (maybe a traditional Chinese or Indian wedding). You might recognize some things, like a bride and a groom and an exchange of vows. But there would likely be all manner of things that are unfamiliar to you. Imagine the friend that invited you sitting at your side and explaining the meaning behind all of those rituals and symbols. Understanding the meaning could help you appreciate them at a deeper level.

The Catholic understanding of marriage can be like this. It's unfamiliar to many people. If you or your spouse is not Catholic, let this course be your friend, explaining what the Catholic Church teaches about marriage. Not for the purpose of shaming or converting you! But for the purpose of enabling you to appreciate those teachings at a deeper level, to understand how those teachings dovetail with practical, contemporary research on successful relationships, and ultimately, to help you appreciate and love your spouse better.

Absolutely! Abundant isn't just for struggling marriage; it's for any couple who wants to deepen their connection with each other and bring the grace of Christ more deeply into their marriage.

Why settle for "okay"? That's not what Jesus wants for you! He wants you to have an amazing, passionate, joyful, abundant marriage!

Living the vocation of marriage well means more than just addressing problems when they come up; it means intentionally nurturing and building your marriage day by day. Abundant can show you how to move from a "fine" marriage to one where the highschool youth group sees the witness of your amazing love and connection and they say to themselves: "They look happy. They still love each other. I want what they have!"

There are lots of good marriage resources out there, and counseling has an important place. This course differs from counseling in that it brings the focus to practical, faith-centered strategies for building a joyful, thriving marriage in the everyday moments. Rather than focusing primarily on what is wrong, Abundant help you move forward by focusing on what is going well in your marriage and giving you faithful and practical skills for nurturing and enhancing the good things. In the process, you will use these same skills (like communication, forgiveness, prayer, decision making, creating shared goals, and more) to help address past hurts and experience healing in the context of a loving relationship.

You can ask us anything related to marriage and family, whether it's specifically covered by the Abundant lessons or not. Ask a question or tell us what you are dealing with and ask for our thoughts and advice on your situation.

We have worked with hundreds of engaged couples to prepare them for the sacrament of marriage.

While Abundant does not replace your marriage preparation, it is a great supplement to it. In fact, Abundant is much more comprehensive and in-depth than most marriage preparation programs. You will learn so many more practical tools, skills and perspectives that will set your future marriage up for success from the start!

Abundant is designed for already married couples, so you will need to "translate" some of the things in the course as relating to your future marriage and not to you current relationship. (Module 4, for example, is all about your sexual relationship. Learn the theological insights, but save the practical application for after the wedding! 😉)
